Aero Glass (full) does not require a 512 MB Video Card, although I sense sarcasm possibly. How does Aero glass look on Ati Radeon 9550?
How is the text clarity at high video resolutions? Thanks, Greg Pretty good. But I have a confession. I really bought a 9800 from E-Bay that unfortunately didn't work. The seller refunded ALL of my money no probs, so I went and bought the 9550. If you have a few extra bucks, and want to stay with AGP,

The 915 was used in tens of millions (perhaps hundreds of millions) of laptops, where there is no option to get a new video card. The 915 is hardware capable of running Aero Glass. It meets all of the hardware specs (Pixel Shader 2, 128MB of RAM, etc.). It was explicitly identified by the Windows Vista Advisor

I was able to install Vista on my existing Dell Dimension mid-priced system with no problems, and the existing video card, an ATI x600, runs Aero Glass. You could have the fastest card on the market, if there is LDDM drivers it won't support Aero Glass.

Vista is a peice of %^$#@!!!!
For the video card, if you are using a motherboard with AGP slots, I'd recommend an ATI Radeon 9600, or if you want a newer card, perhaps one based on the X1300, which will run Vista with Aero Glass (I'm not sure if the 9600 will do that or not .... it might). Note, this is a straight video card,

Presently I am using nvidia 7600 GS video card with my Windows Vista ultimate. While Media Center works in my setup, and allows Aero Glass, I would like to be able to rotate the normal vista screen from landscape to portrait and vice versa. Nvidia has newer drivers than the drivers that come with vista ultimate.
